Pablo Fouilloux, Project and Event Manager at Viborg Fodsports Forening (VFF) is one of our VIP Guests at the upcoming #TDS24 in Manchester (2-4 December). We caught up with Pablo to discuss the planned developments at the Energi Viborg Arena and the challenges that come with that.

Originally from Mexico, Fouilloux has a flair for hospitality and is a well-known personality in Viborg. He joined VFF in late 2021 and is responsible for developing experiences at the stadium and match days, as well as other football-related events.

Energi Viborg Arena is a football stadium in Viborg, Denmark. It is the home ground of Viborg FF and has a capacity of 10,000. The stadium is part of Viborg Stadion Center and is owned by Viborg Municipality. It is also the home stadium of the Danish International Women’s Division.

TheStadiumBusiness: What are the most exciting developments in the field of venue design/development? or What are the key drivers behind your project?

Pablo Fouilloux: We are in constant renovations and developments at Energi Viborg Arena, our stadium is “old” (20 years) and it belongs to the city, so as you can imagine there is a lot of political process involved.

TSB: What’s in the pipeline for Viborg FF over the next six to 12 months?

PF: Right now, in the pipeline I just designed a new VIP lounge with a capacity of 220 people. We are just waiting for the space to be available to start the building process. At the same time, I am in the big process of establishing our own merchandise shop, which includes securing a location.

TSB: What are you most looking forward to about the Design & Development Summit 2024?

PF: Our stadium was built in an unusual way, and all the buildings around the pitch were sold to different companies. That means there are restaurants, dentist, private hospitals, apartments, and much more around. So, it is always a challenge when I need to create new places, but what life without any challenges, right?

See who else will be joining us to explore next-gen spaces for sports and entertainment at #TDS24 here.
